This former member of the six time national champion Montreal Red Light has now made a name for himself in the big show. The 6'1 190 pound speedy Canuck winger has been labelled one of the league's biggest pests, while matching a career high 15 goals and considered to be part of one of the best third lines in the NHL last year, Burrows has now been promoted to the top canuck line with the Sedin twins and will far suprpass any career peronal bests he has achieved to date.
Although Burrows is slowly becoming a household name in the NHL, something that quite a few people dont know is Alexander Burrows in the world of ball hockey is considered a legend. He has represented Canada at the world ball hockey championships on several occassions and instrumental in defeating the Czech and Slovakian teams for the gold medals as he was named 05' World Championship Tournament MVP. That same year, Burrows was named the International Player of the Year - awarded to the best player in the world by the ISBHF, which is the world governing body of the sport
Although, his new focus is now his NHL team and future career, this ball hockey icon has attributed the sport to be one of his biggest assets on the road to the NHL. He has mentioned many ball hockey skills that have crossed ove into ice: Stickhandling, vision and conditioning; He has also mentioned leadership and team play as a couple intangible elements he has learned from playing the sport and being part of its elite.
